Zehentmayer manufactures feed supplements and feed additives for farm animals and pets. One of their products contains natural moor, which builds up pressure inside the packaging. After receiving complaints about leaking packaging, they decided it was time to make a change.
Zehentmayer from Winden (Switzerland) manufactures feed supplements and feed additives for farm animals and pets. One of their feed supplements is called Sanofor – a semi-liquid that contains natural moor which promotes a healthy intestines, strengthens resistance and ensures health fur.
The moor mud, which is the basis for Sanofor, is excavated in the moors of the Austrian state of Vorarlberg. Moor mud is one of the oldest medicines in the world: it is an ideal heat carrier and the beneficent warmth of moor baths stimulates the blood flow in all body parts. Moor mud also contains valuable nutrients gathered over thousands of years from flowers, herbs, and other plants.

Another property of moor mud is that it builds up pressure when confined in a container. At Zehentmayer, the moor mud is ground and diluted with water until it has the right consistency for use. After filling, the solid part sinks to the bottom and the liquid part remains on top. Zehentmayer previously used jars with inadequate sealing capacity, which caused them to leak during transport and ultimately led to customers complaints.
No one wants to buy or use a product that is dirty or looks damaged, so a solution had to be found. One of Zehentmayer's distributors had experience with Packo pots from CurTec and recommended testing them. The outcome was positive!
Packo jars have a screw lid with integrated seal that closes sufficiently to prevent the contents from leaking and at the same time allows excess pressure to escape. This solved the problem of leaking, damaged-looking packaging and could help to restore customer trust and product acceptance.
Plastic Packo pots turned out to have other advantages:
CurTec packaging is food safe and is manufactured in a GMP-certified production facility. Packo pots therefore meet the quality requirements that Zehentmayer sets with regard to QS quality assurance of foodstuffs.
Zehentmayer employees use a modified Lid Locker to close Packo jars. Using a Lid Locker reduces the burden on the body during a closing or opening action and can help prevent repititive strain injury.
